Graduates will be skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications and be able to recognize defective welds, know the cause and proper procedure for the repair of the defective area. They will be able to execute assigned tasks in accordance with production standards required by industry. Also available at NESC's Goldsborough, Tobago campus.

 
  • Mature students with appropriate qualifications and experience.
    OR
    3 CSEC/CXC Passes
  • Be seventeen (17) years or older.
  • Pass an interview.
  • Pass a Drug Test at their cost.

Graduates will receive an NESC Diploma (and will be eligible to pursue the NESC Journeyman qualification and the Trades Professional Certificate (Red Deer College (RDC), Alberta, Canada)).

The following are the primary objectives of the Welder Programme:

  • Be skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications.
  • Comprehend drawings and develop layout patterns for projects and calculate quantities of materials.
  • Recognize defective welds, know the cause and proper procedure for the repair of the defective area.
  • Have a working knowledge of the required codes.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with production standards required by industry.
